Lübeck - historic hanseatic city
Lübeck - no other city on the Baltic Sea is so historically important and still so visibly shaped by history.
There are still numerous historic buildings to discover that create a very special atmosphere. The city gates are particularly characteristic of Lübeck.
The best known is probably the Holstentor (Holsten Gate). It is one of the best preserved, Late Medieval city gates in Germany. It is now home to a museum of the city’s history.
However, the city gates are not the only historic buildings that characterise Lübeck’s cityscape. The seven towers of Lübeck are equally important. They belong to five churches: Marienkirche (St. Mary’s Church), Lübecker Dom (Lübeck Cathedral), Aegidienkirche (St. Aegidien’s Church), Petrikirche (St. Peter’s Church) and Jakobikirche (St. Jacob’s Church).
Other historic buildings in Lübeck are, for example, Buddenbrookhaus (Buddenbrook House), Lübecker Burgkloster (Lübeck Castle Monastery) or the city’s Salzspeicher (salt stores), where valuable salt was stored and shipped as far away as Norway.

Thanks to good public transport links, our hotel, which is located in the St. Lorenz Nord district, is the ideal starting point for lengthy tours. Lübeck city centre is only 20-30 minutes away by foot and can also be reached by car or bus in 10 minutes.
How to get to Lübeck
Leave the motorway at the ‘Lübeck-Zentrum’ exit and follow Stockelsdorfer Straße in the direction of ‘Zentrum’ [centre]. At the first roundabout, take the third exit onto ‘Bei der Lohmühle’. The hotel is on the left, at the end of the road. Please turn at the traffic lights to get to the ‘Lohmühle’* multi-storey car park.
